I must admit that I am a NYTimes addict especially when it comes to fashion trends, style & food. Years ago, I would get the weekend edition of the NY Times delivered to my front door. It was a ritual that I relished for many years. Now, I subscribe to the on-line edition, thanks in part to my sister/ business partner Rebecca. Although, I miss the turning of pages to see what’s next, I still adore this news worthy mainstay presented in this digital, eco-friendly way.
I was thrilled to come across a brilliant article from the Saturday, March 24th edition by Rachel Felder. She wrote an article about one of my all-time coveted jewelry designers of years past- the late, legendary Robert Goossens from Paris. Goossens Paris was founded in 1950 and had an exclusive clientele list which included Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and others. In 2005, the company was acquired by Chanel. Today, the legacy continues with Patrick Goossens (Mr. Goossens’ son) as Artistic Director.
Featured on our TVL website, www.thevintagelabel.com is a glorious pair of Goossens Paris earrings. These majestic, statement-making earrings are a true example of the design aesthetic, style & craftsmanship that Robert Goossens quietly became known for.
I highly suggest reading about this masterful jewelry designer and how his love of designing has transcended through the decades in the fabulous article by Rachel Felder with the NYTimes. You can view some of Goossens Paris wondrous pieces on their Instagram account, goossens_paris.
