2018 is almost here and the Pantone Color Institute, https://www.pantone.com/color-of-the-year-2018-shop-pantone, has announced the “it” color of the year - Ultra Violet, color 18-3838. This bold color was recently featured in the New York Times, https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/09/style/purple-pantone-color-year.html, in the December 9, 2017 edition.
This spectacular shade brings to mind many things. My birth stone, the color of amethyst. Purple was a favorite color of genius architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Easter holiday is abundant with pastel painted Easter eggs awash with this glorious shade. And, of course, the song “Purple Rain” by the visionary artist of his time, Prince & The Revolution https://g.co/kgs/siq3eH.
