Many of you bring this topic up when chatting about fashion, “what length is best to wear?” There are many different thoughts on this subject depending on who you ask.
So, here are my thoughts…
The length of your skirt or dress really depends on you as an individual. What length are you most comfortable with? The questions to then ask yourself are, “What occasion am I dressing for... work, evening out, a cocktail party, a business event, a casual weekend?" Sometimes different occasions determine the most appropriate length as well as style. “Is what I’m wearing age appropriate?” And lastly ask yourself “Do I love my knees?”
When hemming a skirt or dress, a great tailor/seamstress will pin the hem so you both can discuss the length and what suits you best. Don’t forget to take the shoes you will wear when you have your dress altered for length or try it on for the first time! Getting a preview with your shoes on will give you the best preview of the overall look you are going for. You can always take a selfie and text your bestie for another opinion on this topic!

Autumn is also a good time to “purge” any items you haven’t worn in a couple of years, no longer fit, or you’re just tired of them. The Vintage Label is here to help!
