Vintage Harmay LBD is made out of sumptuous faille fabric. Features a shawl collared v-neckline & princess seaming to the defined waist. Two slanted front faux pocket flaps across the side seams of the dress that give it a dramatic, flattering look. The long, fuller sleeves gather slightly to the 2" wide double-faced cuffs. Each cuff is beautifully tailored with a bound button hole + stunning dome-shaped rhinestone button. There is also a black cloth covered snap to further secure the cuff. The fabric, of the body, gathers slightly around the fitted waist & generously falls into a flattering A-line. Covered, black painted metal zipper secures at the neck with a hook/eye closure. The shawl collar has 2 hook/eye closures to fasten it together at the back of the neck. The body of the dress is lined. This dress is exquisite as is or can be belted. US made. Larger vintage size.
Special notation regarding the zipper: The black paint has worn off of the metal zipper through out the teeth. The zipper still functions. The price has been adjusted accordingly.
A little vintage history- Harmay was a suit & dress label from the 50s & 60s that was known for their ladylike, understated designs. The iconic designer, Geoffrey Beene, was an assistant designer at Harmay for a few years.
